{"id":5024,"date":"2026-09-21T12:42:08","date_gmt":"2026-09-21T20:42:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.wayofstory.com\/?p=5024"},"modified":"2026-09-21T12:44:59","modified_gmt":"2026-09-21T20:44:59","slug":"a-writers-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wayofstory.com\/?p=5024","title":{"rendered":"A Writer&#8217;s Life"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">                                     <em><strong>A Writer\u2019s Life is Sometimes Magical<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"218\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wayofstory.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Woman-Reading.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5025\" style=\"aspect-ratio:0.7266666666666667;width:218px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Generally, I am optimistic by nature. However this past year has been more than usually challenging. Some medical setbacks reminding me that I am one more person who is getting older. This week I\u2019ve been having a dialogue with my self, asking questions as \u201cI\u2019ve written 8 books. Why should I write another book?\u201d I enjoy the writing yet not the business part that follows \u2013 especially PR for the book, etc. This has put me in a surly mood the past days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I had decided to go to a film at our local theatre and I would be going alone, as my friends were all busy doing something else. First, I went to the club to swim laps \u2013 my favorite and only exercise \u2013 then rushed to the theatre, arriving 5 minutes before showtime. As I approached the door to the theatre, an attractive man in his 50s was just in front of me. He stopped and opened the door for me to go in first. As I entered the theatre, he said you\u2019re a writer? \u201cYes.\u201d What\u2019s your first name? \u201cCatherine\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Catherine Ann Jones, right? I have your book in my sachel, and he patted the stachel under his arm. \u201cWhich book. I\u2019ve written 8.\u201d He replied, \u201c<em>The Way of Story.<\/em> Actually,I\u2019m reading it for the third time and it\u2019s a great inspiration.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As we were each on our own, we decided to sit together and hurried in as it was soon to start. In the couple of minutes before the film began, he began to tell me his story. A pleasant experience and a synchronicity well timed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Writing is a solitary act and sometimes you can wonder why you&#8217;re doing it again and again. I was having doubts after writing for so long and so many plays, films, and books that it might be time to call it a day. And then something unexpected &#8211; even magical &#8211; happens ,and a stranger recognizes you and tells you he&#8217;s reading <em>The Way of Story (<\/em>my first book) for the third time and how it inspires him.
